Welcome to our gold standard training program for Radiographers where the subject matter experts at The London bridgeway will coach you to excel in your career as a professional Radiographer in the UK. Whether you are an internationally trained Radiographer or not, you can still apply for a variety of Radiography roles in the NHS and private hospitals in the UK. 

In order to practise as a Radiographer in the UK, you first need to obtain a practising license called the Health and care professionals council (HCPC) registration. 

Aptitude Improvement Scheme (AIS)

The London Bridgeway is proud to introduce our bespoke Aptitude Improvement Scheme or AIS to all Radiographers who are longing to work in the United Kingdom, a program developed for Radiographers by Radiographers who are working in senior maangement roles within the NHS and the private sectors. Here we share our first hand knowledge from experience on how to overcome huddles during an interview and share practical based troubleshooting scenarios and their solution which are often commonly asked during an interview. 

AIS is designed to help radiographers enhance their interview skills and increase their chances of success in securing employment opportunities. This comprehensive and practical training program is tailored specifically to the unique requirements of the radiography profession, aiming to improve participants’ confidence, communication abilities, and overall interview performance.

Objectives:

  1. Enhance self-awareness: Radiographers will gain an understanding of their strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement in relation to interview skills.
  2. Develop effective communication skills: Participants will learn how to convey their knowledge, experience, and professional attributes in a compelling and concise manner during interviews.
  3. Improve readiness: Radiographers will become familiar with various interview formats, common questions, and techniques to handle challenging interview scenarios.
  4. Boost confidence: The program will provide strategies to help radiographers feel confident, composed, and assertive throughout the interview process.
  5. Enhance body language and non-verbal communication: Participants will understand the importance of positive body language, gestures, and eye contact to create a positive impression.
  6. Sharpen interview techniques: Radiographers will practice mock interviews to refine their responses, improve clarity, and build strong examples showcasing their skills and achievements.
  7. Receive personalised feedback: Individualised feedback and guidance will be provided to each participant to address their specific areas of improvement and tailor their interview skills accordingly.

Program Structure: The training program includes a combination of interactive workshops, role-playing exercises, and individual coaching sessions. It spans over a defined period, allowing radiographers to implement the skills acquired during the training and further develop them.

Workshop 1: Understanding the Effective Interview Process

  • Introduction to the importance of interview skills
  • Types of interviews and common interview questions in the radiography field
  • Creating an impressive resume and portfolio
  • Techniques for researching the prospective employer.

 

Workshop 2: Mastering Interview Techniques

  • Understanding body language and non-verbal cues
  • Developing effective communication skills
  • Preparing concise and impactful responses
  • Handling hypothetical and competency-based questions
  • Refresh on interview based radiographic Anatomy and Physiology
  • Refresh on Interview based radiography techniques based on modality in question (X-ray, Fluoroscopy, Mammography, CT, MRI etc.)

 

Workshop 3: Advanced Interview Strategies

  • Interview follow-up techniques
  • Negotiating terms of employment where possible
  • Salary expectations and benefits negotiation
  • Final Mock Interviews:
  • Participants will conduct a final mock interview to demonstrate their progress and receive comprehensive feedback.

 

Duration: The program is conducted over a period of six weeks, comprising three workshops, practical sessions, and individual coaching. It is designed to provide participants with sufficient time to practice and internalise the newly acquired skills.

Target Audience: The Radiographer Aptitude Improvement Scheme is suitable for new graduates, experienced radiographers seeking career progression, individuals returning to the profession, or those seeking to improve their interview performance within the radiography field.

Outcome: Upon completion of the training program, participants will have developed a strong foundation in effective interview techniques, enabling them to present themselves confidently, showcase their skills, and increase their chances of securing desired employment opportunities as radiographers.
